The Canada Revenue Agency has officially disclosed the date on which they are going to release the direct deposit or send the paper cheque for the NLDB beneficiaries in December 2025.
The CRA will release the direct deposit on December 24, 2025, and a paper cheque will also be mailed by them on the same date. If you have opted for the direct deposit, you will get it within a few hours after the release of the payment.
If you are one among the individuals who get the NLDB monthly payment via paper cheque, you should know that it takes a minimum of 3 days and a maximum of 7 days to be received in the mailbox.
Payout Amount
The NLDB payment rates are officially made public by the CRA. For the benefit year 2025-26, which falls from July to June, eligible individuals can get up to $4,800 annually.
If you are eligible to get the maximum rate of the Newfoundland and Labrador Disability Benefit, your payment for December 2025 will be as high as $400.
The full benefit is received only by those eligible whose AFNI, i.e., adjusted family net income, isn’t above $29,402. If it exceeds the threshold, the benefit amount is reduced gradually.

- Your AFNI as an individual shouldn’t be above $42,404, and as a couple, the threshold is $55,404.

What if the payment isn’t received on time?
The December 2025 payment for the Newfoundland and Labrador Disability Benefit is received by beneficiaries in due time once it is sent out by the Canada Revenue Agency.
If there is any technical problem, the direct deposit can take a maximum of 72 hours to be received; if there will be any workload with the Canada Post, you have to wait up to 10 days to get a paper cheque.
