The Food Stamp, which is currently known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, is a program run by the federal government. Under this program, low-income individuals and families get the financial help to buy food.

What are the maximum benefit rates for SNAP in December 2025?
For December 2025, the USDA has announced the SNAP benefit rates. The amount you are going to get depends on your family size and the state or territory you are living in. For the 48 states (except Alaska & Hawaii) and DC (District of Columbia), the rates are as follows:
| Household Size | Benefit |
| 1 person | $298 |
| 2 people | $546 |
| 3 people | $782 |
| 4 people | $994 |
| 5 people | $1,181 |
| 6 people | $1,418 |
| 7 people | $1,566 |
| 8 people | $1,789 |
| Each additional person | + $223 |
The SNAP benefit for Alaska and Hawaii ranges from $1,285 to $1,995 and is $1,689 for a family of five, and the benefit rates for the territories also vary from one another.
Note that the actual benefit depends on your income and deductions. You can get the maximum benefit only if the income is 0; if you have any income, the amount is reduced. It is reduced by 30% of net income.
Suppose that your household has 5 members who live in New York with a net monthly income of $800; the amount you will get in December 2025 will be ($1181 – (30% of 500)), i.e., $1,031.
What to do if the EBT card isn’t loaded with December 2025 as per the timeline?
The SNAP benefit for December 2025 may be delayed because of the many reasons. It is delayed only if one has missed recertification, hasn’t submitted his or her document, hasn’t reported the income changes, or didn’t meet work or activity requirements.
If your food stamp benefit isn’t received on time, you shouldn’t worry. The first thing you need to do is to contact the state SNAP office; they will check your case status, whether benefits were sent, or if anything is missing in your file. You may be asked for documents; after that, your benefit will be processed.
