How to check the UP Scholarship Status 2025-26?
If you have applied for the UP Matric or Post-Matric Scholarship scheme for the academic year 2025-26, you can check your application status by following the steps given below.
- First, go to the UP Scholarship portal, whose URL is https://scholarship.up.gov.in/.
- In the menu bar, you will see an option for “Application Status 2025-26”. Click on this to reach the login page.
- Now, enter your registration number and date of birth, then fill in the captcha and click on the Search button.

What are the stages of UP Scholarship Status 2025-26?
Scholarship applications submitted by students for the academic year 2025-26 undergo verification at various levels before the payment process is initiated. We have discussed the different verification statuses below; you can learn more by reading the listed points.
- For a few days after submitting your scholarship application, you will see your application status as “Application Submitted”.
- After a few weeks have passed since the application submission, if you check the application status, you will see the “under verification” status.
- Once the scholarship application is verified by the school, the status will then show as “Verified by Institute”.
- After verification by the institute, the status “Verified by District Welfare Officer (DWO)” appears within approximately 4 to 5 weeks, provided all the details in the application are correct.
- Once the application is verified by the DWO, you will see your scholarship application status as “Application Approved” a few days later. It means that you are eligible to receive the scholarship, and you will definitely receive the scholarship amount.
After the application is shown as approved, it is sent to the Public Financial Management System a few weeks later. The PFMS takes a few days to process the payment, and then the payment is received in the bank account of all the applicants.
If there is a minor mistake in your scholarship application, you will be given a chance to correct it. However, if there is a major mistake, such as a mismatch in the name between your bank account and Aadhaar card, your application will be rejected.
When to expect the UP Scholarship 2025-26 Payment?
The payment for the UP Scholarship for the academic year 2025-26 is expected to be received between December 2025 and January 2026. If you have applied for the pre-matric scholarship, you will likely receive the payment by the end of December 2025. For post-matric scholarship applicants, the payment is expected in January 2026.
The Government of UP disburses pre-matric and post-matric scholarships through DBT. For this, it is essential that the student’s bank account is seeded with their Aadhaar.
