AT&T Settlement Timeline: Final Approval and When Payments Will Start

The AT&T data breach settlement claim process is ongoing for data incident 1 (March 2024) and incident 2 ( July 2024). Affected US residents can claim the settlement payout before the deadline, 18 December 2026. Here you can find the full details of the AT&T settlement payout, deadlines, and other information.

The lawsuit against AT&T was about the data incidents 1 and 2 that compromised the customers’ private information, such as Social Security numbers, financial information, addresses, and others.

The defendant agreed to resolve the lawsuit with a settlement by paying $177 million without admitting any wrongdoing or allegations. The class members with valid claims can receive the maximum payout of up to $7,500 under this settlement.

  • Tier cash payment: If you do not have the documented loss, you can go for the tier payment, where you will find two tiers:
  • Tier 1 cash payout: If your Social Security number was obtained in the data incident, you can receive the tier payment, which is five times the tier 2 payment.
  • Tier 2 Cash payout: If your other information, other than SSN, was compromised, you will receive the Tier 2 cash payment.
  • AT&T Data incident 2:
  • Documented loss: If you have a documented loss that occurred on or after 14 April 2024, due to the data incident 2, you could receive the payout up to $2,500.
  • Tier 3 payment: If you do not have documented loss, you can go for the alternative compensation option, tier 3 cash payment, which will be equally distributed among all members.
  • Overlap class member groups: If you meet the eligibility conditions for both data incidents, you can claim both. If you have claimed the documented loss in both, you can receive the highest payout of $7500.
